Reclaim Idaho, the group aggressively pushing for jungle primaries and ranked choice voting in our state, claims to be a grassroots movement of concerned Idahoans. However, a closer examination of its top individual donors and leadership reveals a far different reality—one that should alarm every conservative in Idaho.
Let’s start with the money. The top five individual donors to Reclaim Idaho are not ordinary Idahoans seeking to improve their communities. These individuals have a well-documented history of contributing to ActBlue and various Democrat campaigns, as confirmed by the Federal Election Commission (FEC) database. Collectively, these donors have poured tens of thousands of dollars into Reclaim Idaho’s efforts, raising serious questions about the true agenda behind the organization.
Ellen Bush a registered Democrat from Boise, and formerly Fresno, CA, has contributed a staggering $18,100.00 to Reclaim Idaho. She has consistently backed Democrat candidates and causes that promote far-left policies.

A.J. Balukoff, another prominent donor, has contributed $11,000.00 to Reclaim Idaho. Balukoff is no stranger to Idaho politics, having previously run as a Democrat for governor. His financial support for Reclaim Idaho is yet another indication of the organization’s deep ties to the Democrat agenda.

Karleen Davis, a Democrat, has donated $11,000.00 to Reclaim Idaho.

James M. Green has provided $10,000.00 to Reclaim Idaho’s cause. His history of donations to Democrat campaigns underscores the partisan nature of this so-called grassroots movement.

Bryan & Linda Talmage have contributed $9,560.00 to Reclaim Idaho. Bryan is a registered Democrat, and interestingly, Linda is a registered Republican, but her FEC donation records indicate she is a Democrat at heart.

These are not just casual donations—these are substantial financial contributions aimed at pushing a specific agenda, one that is entirely out of step with Idaho’s conservative values. The question conservative Idahoans need to ask themselves is simple: Should we be listening to a group whose biggest supporters are entrenched in the radical left, or should we be doing everything in our power to stop Reclaim Idaho and the dangerous ballot initiatives it is pushing? The answer, for those who cherish Idaho’s traditions of limited government, personal responsibility, and individual liberty, is clear.
But the story doesn’t end with the donors. Reclaim Idaho’s co-founder, Luke Mayville, is another figure who warrants close scrutiny. While Luke may have been born and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho, his time spent on the East Coast has clearly distanced him from the values that Idahoans hold dear.

Educated in the Ivy League, Luke has been steeped in the woke ideology that permeates these elite institutions. His stint as a lecturer at Columbia University—a school that recently became the epicenter of Pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses—further highlights how far removed he has become from the Idaho roots he claims to represent.
What Luke Mayville has brought back to Idaho is not a revival of the state’s traditions, but an importation of the radical ideas he absorbed during his time on the East Coast. Under the guise of grassroots activism, he and Reclaim Idaho are attempting to fundamentally alter our state’s political landscape. The push for jungle primaries and ranked choice voting is not just about changing how we vote—it’s about opening the door for more liberal candidates who do not represent the majority of Idahoans. These initiatives are the thin end of the wedge, designed to erode Idaho’s conservative values and pave the way for the same failed policies that have devastated other states.
It is critical that conservative Idahoans recognize the true nature of Reclaim Idaho and its backers. The support for jungle primaries and ranked choice voting is just the beginning of a broader strategy to turn Idaho into the next battleground for radical liberal ideas. If we allow these changes to take hold, we risk losing the very essence of what makes Idaho great—our freedom, our values, and our way of life.
Now more than ever, it is imperative that we remain vigilant and actively oppose Reclaim Idaho and its initiatives. We must stand together to protect Idaho from the creeping influence of outside interests and radical ideology.
